Kids Again.

He saw her. She waited by her friend's locker. Looking straight at him but not seeing him. She liked to daydream. Her hair fell to her shoulders, much shorter than when they were kids. She stopped wearing her glasses years ago. Although he thought she looked better with them. He signed, if only they were kids again. He left her waiting alone for her friend. After a while, she gave up and started home.
She saw him playing basketball in his driveway. She sat on her porch and pulled out her homework. His house was across from hers and she sat there watching him instead of doing her homework. He had always been really good at basketball. And all sports. He had tried to teach her to play but she was no athlete. She smiles at the memory. He had gotten much taller, but everything he owned was still a shade of blue. She signed, if only they were kids again.
